The Anti-Discrimination and Diversity Office of the Centre for EDIB is the central point of contact for HU members who experience discrimination.

A university of diversity

Humboldt-University recognises the diversity of its members as an enrichment and aims to create a research, study and work environment that promotes the creative power of each individual.

The university aims to counteract (structural) discrimination and to promote diversity, value differences and create a culture of belonging.

Central point of contact

The Anti-Discrimination and Diversity Office is the central point of contact for HU members who experience discrimination. You can seek advice from us, find out about suitable contact points, report incidents and submit complaints. You can also contact us if you have observed discrimination but have not been affected yourself. Counselling can also be provided anonymously or together with a companion and in German or English. We will treat your enquiry confidentially. We will only act as a mediator or initiate further steps with your express consent.

Where to turn for counselling?

The HU has a broad network of counsellors on various dimensions of diversity who can intervene in cases of discrimination. If you wish, we can identify contact persons for your specific concern.

You can reach us by phone and email. We are also happy to arrange a personal appointment (telephone, Zoom, in-person). If you need further assistance - for example a translation into German sign language - please let us know while coordinating the appointment.

AGG-Complaints Office

The Anti-Discrimination and Diversity office is the complaints' office in accordance with Section 13 of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

Further tasks

In addition, at our office we are responsible for the University's Diversity Working Group, the Round Table of Counsellors and the Conflict Prevention Commission.

One of our tasks is to develop a concept for anti-discrimination and diversity for the HU in a participatory process and to promote the further development of counselling and complaints management at the HU, in close cooperation with the Round Table of Counsellors.
