Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at HU
For the Humboldt University, adhering to the principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB) means that all its members should have the same opportunities to realise their potential, regardless of their social background and migration history, their gender, ethnicity, religion or world view, sexual orientation, gender identity or other characteristics. The aim of the HU is to promote the diversity of its members and to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, heard, and valued. Accordingly, at HU, the promotion of equity, diversity, inclusion & belonging is always considered together with the reduction of existing inequalities, barriers and disadvantages and thus with the combating and prevention of discrimination and violence.
The Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB)
Since 2024, the (former) Office of the Central Women's and Equal Opportunities Officer, the Family Support Office, the newly created Anti-Discrimination & Diversity Office, the Antisemitism Office and the office of the Berlin Equal Opportunities Program have been brought together in the Centre EDIB. This means that important players in anti-discrimination work at the HU are now united under one roof.
The Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging pursues an intersectional approach. It takes into account both the general principles of anti-discrimination work and the specific challenges of work against anti-Semitism.

FLINTA* Action week 2024: A look back
From 23rd to 30th November 2024, the Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin organised a multitude of events as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women* that took place at the Mitte and Adlershof campuses.

Conclusion of the Leadership Program for Female Professors 2024
On November 11th and 13th, 2024, the closing ceremony of the Leadership Program for Female Professors took place at Restaurant Alvis. This event marked the conclusion of an intensive and enriching program year aimed at strengthening female professors in their leadership roles.

New Call for tender // Deadline 2nd January 2025
For the summer semester 2025 and the winter semester 2025/2026, funding will be provided by the Berlin programme to promote equal opportunities for women in research and Women in Research and Teaching programme. The application deadline is 2nd January 2025.
The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin's Equal Opportunities Fund finances measures starting on 1st January 2026. The application deadline is 2nd January 2025.
